White Wine Abadal Nuat 2020

The white wine Abadal Nuat is one of the best expressions of the successfully recovered Picapoll variety, a white grape indigenous to the highly interesting, dynamic region of Pla de Bages, central Catalonia.
The grapes are sourced from low-yielding, over 60-year-old vineyards scattered over several plots.
Harvested by hand at dusk, once in the cellar the grapes of this Spanish white wine were meticulously selected, gently pressed and cold-soaked for a period of 24 hours.
Then they were fermented and macerated in stainless steel tanks, after which this white wine from Pla de Bages was aged on lees for a period of 10 months. In parallel, a 30% of this Crianza white wine was aged for 4 months in fine-grained oak barrels for 4 months.
Finally, the wine Abadal Nuat 2020 was bottled and aged for some months before its commercial release.
Ambitious but not pretentious, we suggest that you decant this white wine aged on lees for 30 minutes before you drink it.
Appearance | The white wine Abadal Nuat is medium yellow with some golden and steely tinges. |

Nose | Complex and intricate, with notes of pomelo, pineapple, mango, passion fruit and lychee. After a while, this Picapoll slowly evolves into aromas of orange blossom, jasmine, almond flower and fennel, with notes of yeasts, pastry and toast over a mineral background. |
Palate | Bold and palate-coating, this wine is also suprisingly fresh. Juicy notes of ripe white fruit and white flowers, punctuated by notes of citrus, flowers, honey and royal jelly. This white wine of Bodegas Abadal has a very long, creamy finish with some bitter undertones. |
Our personal opinion | Seductive, complex, age-worthy... and scarcely known! The wine Abadal Nuat 2020 is a wine worth trying. |
