Details
This is the new vintage of Algueira Mencía, the entry-level Spanish red wine from bodega Adega Algueira, one of the very first wineries to produce quality wines in DO Ribeira Sacra.
A varietal Mencía, the grapes are sourced from vineyards composed of schist and slate soils and planted on the dizzying slopes of the Sil river canyon. The climate combines both Atlantic and Mediterranean elements.
Hand-harvested and fully destemmed, the grapes were first cold-macerated in stainless steel tanks. After that, this red wine from Ribeira Sacra was fermented under controlled temperature.
Finally. Algueira Mencía 2022 was clarified and stabilized before bottling.
Pair this young red wine with rice dishes, white meat and oily fish recipes.
