The Cava Alta Alella Mirgin Reserva is produced from vineyards located between the towns of Tiana and Alella, in an area called Serralada de Marina, a mountain range in the vicinity of Barcelona.
This interesting Spanish sparkling wine is made from the traditional DO Cava blend, namely Pansa Blanca (the local name of Xarel·lo), Parellada and Macabeo, coming from organically farmed vineyards. The distinguishing feature of this Cava Reserva Brut Nature is the vineyards' proximity to the Mediterranean, a fact which gives the blend an attractively saline twist.
Once in the facilities of the Alta Alella winery, the grapes were gently pressed and separately vinified in stainless steel tanks. Once the process was completed, this Cava from Alella was blended and aged in the bottle for 20 to 40 months.
Finally, the Cava Alta Alella Mirgin Reserva 2020 was disgorged on the date printed on the back label. It was released onto the market immediately afterwards.

Nose | Elegant and moreish, this blend of Pansa Blanca, Macabeo and Parellada conveys subtle nuances of lime and lemon rind, with a remembrance of green almonds, a note of fenugreek and some mineral intimations. |
Palate | Light-hearted and fresh, this cava of Alta Alella is fruit-driven and highly drinkable. A mix of lemon brioche, aromatic herbs and fine lees, with crisp mineral notes, a smooth mousse and a delicately bitter touch. Excellent acidity and long, delicate finish. |
Our personal opinion | The Cava Alta Alella Mirgin Reserva 2020 is an excellent all-rounder. A great after-work drink, and also a nice bottle to accompany a laid-back meal. |
