Product Description
Details

Crafted by Bodegas Alvear, the wine Alvear Pedro Ximénez de Añada is a young varietal unfortified sweet Spanish white wine made from Pedro Ximénez grapes coming from a single vintage.

The wine was made through the dessication of the grapes, which lost up to 65% of its water content. Naturally sun-dried, they were subsequently pressed twice in order to obtain a highly-concentrated wine must.

Finally, the wine Alvear Pedro Ximénez de Añada 2019, from the Andalusian region of Montilla-Moriles, was blended and aged for 12 months.

It is worth noting that the 2011 vintage of the wine Alvear PX de Añada was given 100 points, a perfect score, by Robert Parker.

Appearance

This sweet wine Alvear Pedro Ximénez de Añada is bright amber with some golden tinges.

Nose

Quite intense. Notes of ripe white fruit, raisins, figs, nuts, dates, quince, orange marmalade, toasted almonds and smoke, typical of a varietal Pedro Ximénez.

Palate

Sweet and powerful, with a nice balance between sweetness and freshness. This wine of bodega Alvear has a long finish, with a citrusy note and remembrances of almonds, quince jelly and toasted pistachios.

Our personal opinion

A remarkable value, the wine Alvear Pedro Ximénez de Añada 2019 is an awfully nice evening sipper.
