Details
This is the second vintage of the wine Ànima de Cal Pagès, the scarcest and most exclusive creation of young winemaker Adrià Domènech, a native from Porrera and the founder of bodega L’Antic Magatzem, a new wine project in DOQ Priorat whose debut releases have been a resounding critical and commercial success.
This one-of-a-kind Spanish red wine is sourced solely from Les Sentius, a south-east oriented plot with llicorella (slate) soils planted with low-yielding centenary vines.
After a meticulous harvest and selection, the grapes were fermented in stainless steel tanks. After that, the red wine Ànima de Cal Pagès 2020 was aged for 12 months in new 225-litre French oak barrels. Once bottled, it was aged for some years in the cellar before hitting the market.
It is essential to decant this red wine from Priorat at least 2 hours before drinking.
It is worth pointing out that the debut vintage (2019) of Ànima de Cal Pagès was chosen “Best Catalan Wine” and "Grand Gold - Best Age-Worthy Wine" at the Vinari awards 2024.
Bear also in mind that this Crianza red wine is almost impossible to find. Only 305 bottles produced!
