Whisky Ardbeg 10 Years

To many this is the best peated Whisky in Scotland. Indeed, Ardbeg 10 Years is crafted by the Ardbeg distillery from the purest tradition of Scotland´s natural Whisky production.

This Whisky is very distinctive primarily for two reasons: This Single Malt Whisky is crafted near the sea and because of this the Whisky carries a maritime character (salts, iodine, seaweeds) that are perfectly integrated. Furthermore, the roasting of the malts and the burning of the sugar are done is all done naturally giving this Whisky a smoky character.

The Whisky then ages 10 years in barrels and it is not filtered. This Scotch Whisky has a brilliant golden appearance with complex aromatics that are very pleasant. We see a wide range of different woods that are entwined with intense and smoky peats, with sweet spices and maritime sensations (iodine and seaweed). The palate of this Whisky is elegant while blunt.

This Whisky from Islay starts in the palate with light spiced notes, some light sweetness, but then passes rapidly into smoke that fills the palate. There are some citrus touches, toffee and mocha, more spices with a surprising spiciness that lead to a long finish that is very persistent. Very complex, Ardbeg 10 Years retains its marked character for its unique smokiness and noticeable peaty notes.
