One of the bottlings of the Vinos de Parcela collection of Bodegas Artadi, the wine Artadi Quintanilla is a remarkable example of the diversity of terroirs of La Rioja Alavesa.
This single vineyard Spanish red wine is entirely sourced from a 1.99-hectare, 75-year-old, east-oriented Tempranillo parcel with clay and limestone soils farmed with certified organic techniques and located near Elvillar de Álava.
After a meticulous harvest, the grapes were cold-macerated for 24 to 48 hours before undergoing fermentation in stainless steel tanks for 10-12 days, with periodic pump-overs and punch-downs.
Then the red wine Artadi Quintanilla 2021 was transferred into French oak barrels, where in completed malolactic fermentation and was aged for 12 months. It was bottled in May 2023.

Nose | Somewhat deeper and more serious than other bottlings of the collection, this varietal Tempranillo suggests mountain herbs, liquorice and charcoal, with a dash of crème de cassis, black pepper, violets and a cinnamon hint. |
Palate | Complex and a tad restrained, this wine of Artadi winery has amazing freshness, sinewy tannins and a lot hiding underneath. Amazing concentration, with top-notch acidity and a very long, mineral-earthy ending. |
