Product Description
Details

This is the new vintage of the wine Arzuaga Crianza, one of the most popular wines from DO Ribera del Duero.

Produced by Bodegas Arzuaga Navarro, this Spanish red wine is made from Tempranillo and a smidgen of Cabernet Sauvignon, sourced from the oldest vines of Finca La Planta.

The grapes were hand-harvested and carefully selected. Once in the cellar, they were destemmed, macerated and fermented in stainless steel tanks.

After that, the wine Arzuaga Crianza 2021 was transferred into French and American oak barrels, where this Crianza red wine underwent malolactic fermentation and was subsequently aged for 16 months.

Decant this red wine from Ribera del Duero 30 minutes before drinking.

Appearance

The red wine Arzuaga Crianza is medium purple with some maroon tinges.

Nose

A purebred Ribera, this blend of Tempranillo and Cabernet Sauvignon exhibits some mineral and earthy nuances, combined with aromas of black fruit, a layer of dry earth and remembrances of spices, fine wood and balsam.

Palate

Quite gentle, with a sort of elegant austerity and a savoury, smooth passage through the palate. This wine of Bodegas Arzuaga Navarro is reminiscent of wild berries, with creamy nuances of wood and spices, and some hints of cigars, aromatic herbs and roasted coffee. Taut acidity, ripe tannins and long, toasted finish.

Our personal opinion

The presence of Cab. Sauvignon gives an extra layer of complexity to the wine Arzuaga Crianza 2021. Simply impeccable.

Old school Ribera. It is somewhat austere and earthy, nicely inquisitorial and deeply Castilian.

This is an old-school Spanish wine. Earthy, restrained and quite deep. I perceive many remembrances of charcoal, earth and spices here. Fruit is excellent. Good pairing with game recipes.
