Details

For those not yet convinced, the red wine Auditori proves again that Spain is the paradise of Grenache.

This varietal Spanish red wine from Acústic Celler is sourced from three plots with different soil compositions; namely, sand, rocks, clay and slate. They are planted with 70 to 90-year-old vines.

The grapes were manually harvested, macerated for 15 days, fermented in stainless steel tanks and gently pressed. Then this Crianza red wine from DO Montsant was transferred into new and 2nd year French oak barrels, where it completed malolactic fermentation and was aged for 13 months.

Prior to its bottling, the red wine Auditori 2018 was not filtered or clarified.

Decant this organic red wine at least 2 hours before drinking.

Although it still remains under the radar, this red wine from Montsant is slowly getting the critical recognition it deserves, as proven by its stupendous Decanter scores.

Appearance

The red wine from Montsant Auditori Vinyes Velles is deep purple with some bluish glints.

Nose

Deep, intrincate and full of drama, this old-vines Grenache carries some pristine aromas of cranberries, raspberries and redcurrants, intertwined with enticing mineral undertones, remembrances of menthol, garrigue and spices, and a touch of blue flowers, black truffles and resin.

Palate

Expressive, seductive and packed with flavour. This red wine from Acústic celler is toothsome and intensely mineral, with exceptional acidity and layer of garrigue and aromatic herbs which simply screams Mediterranean. The wine conveys a real sense of place, with powdery tannins and a long, memorable finish.

Our personal opinion

Once again, winemaker Albert Jané has done an outstanding job. The red wine Auditori 2018 has all the marks of a truly great wine.

Memorable red wine

A Grenache to die for. The nose is otherworldly: the slate and the fruit make for a terrific combination. Lush and immensely fresh, it leaves one in awe.

I read in Decanter that this wine was super good. I was certainly not disappointed. This is a fabulously intense and intoxicating wine. Will buy some bottles to store.
