Details
A varietal Tempranillo from Ribera del Duero, the wine Avelino Vegas Áureo is produced by Bodegas Avelino Vegas from vineyards 50 years old on average.
Hand-harvested at their optimal ripening time, the grapes were first refrigerated on arriving in the cellar. Then this Spanish red wine was cold-soaked for 5 days and fermented in inverted truncated cone-shaped diposits under controlled temperature.
Afterwards one third of the wine Avelino Vegas Áureo 2018 remained in the tanks, one third was transferred into French oak barrels and the other third went into egg-shaped concrete diposits. All three portions went through malolactic fermentation, after which it was aged for 14 months in French oak barrels and concrete diposits.
