The 2019 vintage of Bàrbara Forés Coma d'en Pou comes with a new label and an organic certification.
Besides, the flagship Spanish red wine of Celler Bàrbara Forés winery no longer includes international varieties in the blend. Totally indigenous, it is now made from a remarkably original combination of three Grenache variants: Grenache, Hairy Grenache and Grey Grenache.
Surrounded by olive trees, holm oaks and aromatic plants, the vines grow in soils composed of sand and limestone. Climate is harsh, with hot summers and dry, cold winters.
The grapes were harvested by hand on September 20. Once in the premises, they were cold macerated for 13 days and partially destemmed, after which this Crianza red wine was fermented in stainless steel tanks and open barrels with native yeasts.
After that, Bàrbara Forés Coma d´En Pou 2019 was aged for 13 months in 500-litre French oak barrels for 13 months.
To enjoy it at its fullest, it is important to decant this red wine from Terra Alta at least 1 hour before drinking.
