Whisky Bunnahabhain Eirigh Na Greine
Availability: In stock
The whisky Bunnahabhain Eirigh Na Greine is a 1 litre Single Malt crafted by the well-known Bunnahabhain distillery on the island of Islay. Contrary to most Islay’s expressions, though, this No-age-statement whisky is quite luminous and very lightly peated. (“Eirigh Na Greine” translates as “morning sky” in Gaelic.)
This Islay whisky went through an interesting ageing process. After being meticulously fermented and distilled, this NAS Whisky matured for some years in ex French red wine casks, which imparted a distinctively berryish character.
Cinnamon-coloured with some amber and copper-coloured reflections, the whisky Bunnahabhain Eirigh Na Greine has an exuberant nose of ripe red fruit and forest berries, with hints of paprika, dried fruit and Kerala pepper enlivened by a blow of salty sea wind. On the palate, this NAS Islay Whisky carries spiced red wine syrup, cedar, vanilla and ripe peachy fruit, with a long, salty and delicately smokey finish.
