Details

The mid-range bottling of the Can Blau winery, the wine Can Blau is produced in DO Montsant.

Produced by Juan Gil, this Spanish red wine is a blend of Carignan, coming from vineyards with sandy soils, Syrah grown in limestone soils and Grenache from vines grown in slate soils.

The grapes come from terraced vines 35 years old on average.

Carefully harvested and vinified in stainless steel tanks, the wine Can Blau 2021 was aged for 12 months in new French oak barrels prior to bottling.

Decant this red wine from Montsant 30 minutes before drinking.

Appearance

The red wine Can Blau is deep purple with a garnet rim.

Nose

This blend of Carignan, Grenache and Syrah carries some clean aromas of ripe black fruit, jammy fruit and liquorice, with dim remembrances of violets. On the background, this vegan wine suggests vanilla and clove, with notions of undergrowth and garrigue.

Palate

A creamy, meaty texture coats some succulent red fruit, with smoky nuances, mineral notes, and lively tannins that will mellow over time. This Crianza red wine of the Can Blau winery has a good acidity and a long, intense finish.

Our personal opinion The red wine Can Blau 2021 will pair very well with game dishes.

Value
Very good value. I drink a lot of aussie wine, and to find something this good I have to pay much more.
