Red Wine Carmelo Rodero Reserva 2020
Availability: In stock
Produced by Bodegas Rodero from vineyards over 30 years of age located near Pedrosa del Duero, the wine Carmelo Rodero Reserva is made from one of the oldest and purest Tinta del País clones in DO Ribera de Duero.
The vineyards sit between 750 and 850 metres of altitude, in an area with a harsh Continental climate. The soils are composed mainly of clay, with small amounts of pebble stones, slime and sand.
The composition of this Spanish red wine is 90% Tinta del País (Tempranillo) and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon.
After the harvest, the grapes were vinified in stainless steel tanks. After fermenting and macerating, this red wine from Ribera del Duero went through malolactic fermentation in French oak barrels, after which it was aged for 21 months with periodic rackings.
Finally, the red wine Carmelo Rodero Reserva 2020 was aged for a minimum of 24 months in the bottle before its commercial release.
Decant this Reserva red wine 1 hour before drinking.
Appearance | The red wine Carmelo Rodero Reserva is medium purple with some violet tinges. |

Nose | Deep and balanced, this blend of Tinta del País (Tempranillo) and Cabernet Sauvignon conveys rich aromas of wild berries, notes of vanilla and cinnamon, suggestions of flowers and aromatic herbs, and some creamy, toasted, coffee-like notes. Subtle and definitely unemphatic. |
Palate | Elegant and gentlemanly, with a rock-solid estructure and a smooth body. In this wine of Bodegas Rodero the flavours of forest berries are perfectly harmonized with the ageing notes, tannins are soft and ripe, and acidity is perfectly balanced. Long, mineral finish with some earthy and smokey overtones. |
Our personal opinion | Pure and expressive, the wine Carmelo Rodero Reserva 2020 is a delight both to the palate and the mind. |
