Produced by the Casal de Armán winery, Casal de Armán Tinto is an uncommon Spanish red wine from DO Ribeiro, an area typically known for its white wines.
This blended red wine from Ribeiro is made from the native Galician varieties Sousón, Caiño Longo and Brancellao. The vineyards are planted on mild slopes with granitic sand and slate soils located near the Galician coast, in an area sometimes referred to as "Green Spain".
Harvested by hand at their optimal ripening state, once in the cellar, the grapes were macerated and fermented in stainless steel tanks at a low temperature. Then this Crianza red wine was drawn off prior to malolactic fermentation.
Finally, Casal de Armán Tinto 2021 was aged for 11 months in the steel tanks and for a further 3-4 months in the cellar of the winery prior to its release.
Production around 4,000 bottles per year.
This Atlantic red wine from Galicia will pair excellently with red meat recipes, rice dishes and roast dishes.
