Details
A society dedicated to the promotion and enjoyment of Cava, the Confraria del Cava has teamed up with the charity organization Càritas Catalunya to help children in need.
The result is Cava amb Cor, a worthy philanthropic initiative.
This charitable Cava was jointly produced by 17 wineries from Penedès; namely, Blancher, Castellblanch, Castelo de Pedregosa, Freixenet, Giró del Gorner, Giró Ribot, Mascaró, Muscàndia, Oliver Viticultors, Parató, Pere Ventura, Rimarts, Segura Viudas, Sumarroca, Torreblanca, Vilarnau and Vins El Cep.
This non-profit Spanish sparkling wine is made from the traditional DO Cava varieties: Xarel·lo, Macabeo and Parellada. It was traditionally vinified and then aged for 18 months in the bottle.
The charitable Cava amb Cor is endorsed by the Roca brothers, owners of the world-famous restaurant El Celler de Can Roca in Girona. The production process was supervised by master sommelier Josep "Pitu" Roca.
For each bottle sold, 2,00€ will be given to the Càritas organization.
