The Celler 9+ winery, a producer of low-intervention wines based in DO Tarragona, south Catalonia, presents the wine Celler 9+ Ai Mareta, a successful merge of the local and the international.
This blended Spanish red wine is made from 70% Sumoll – a high-acidic, characterful local variety – and 30% Cabernet Sauvignon – the most cosmopolitan of all red varieties. - The grapes come from certified organic vineyards with sandy soils located in an area that receives the cooling influence of the Mediterranean sea breeze.
The Sumoll grapes were fully destemmed and fermented with the free-run Cab. Sauvignon must in stainless steel tanks for about 10 days under controlled temperature.
After that, this organic red wine from Tarragona was pressed and only the “first-press” wine was subsequently used.
The red wine Celler 9+ Ai Mareta 2021 was kept in French oak barrels, 10 years old on average, for a period of 10 months.
The wine was bottled with no added sulfites or chemical preservatives whatsoever.
We suggest enjoying this natural red wine slightly chilled.

Palate | Like all the wines of Celler 9+, this wine is full of light and vitality, with a vibrant tannic energy to the crunchy red and black fruit and a saline and mineral edge. Long, gently spicy finish with a savoury tang. |
