Product Description
Details

The new vintage of the wine Condado de Haza from Ribera del Duero proves again the remarkable consistency of this Spanish red wine over the years.

A brand of Grupo Pesquera, founded by the late Alejandro Fernández, the Condado de Haza winery has more than 180 hectares of Tempranillo, the sole component of this wine, around the province of Burgos. Planted at an altitude of 800 metres above sea level, the vines are around 30 years of age.

The grapes were fully destemmed and macerated with the skins for some weeks. After the completion of alcoholic fermentation, this Crianza red wine was aged for 12 months in American oak barrels.

Prior to its commercial release, the wine Condado de Haza Crianza 2021 was aged for some months in the bottle.

Aerate this red wine from Ribera del Duero 30 minutes before drinking.

Appearance

The red wine Condado de Haza is deep ruby with a garnet rim.

Nose

Fresh, intense notes of red and black fruit, dim toasted nuances, some herbal and lactic suggestions and aromas of cinnamon, clove and sandalwood. This Tempranillo is remarkably fresh.

Palate

Bold and expansive, though lighter and fresher than previous vintages. This wine of the Condado de Haza winery is full of juicy red fruit, alongside cocoa, underbrush, strawberry yoghurt and Eastern spices.Crisp acidity, savoury tannins and long finish with a toasted aftertaste.

Our personal opinion

Rounder and leaner than ever before, the wine Condado de Haza Crianza 2021 delivers pure drinking pleasure.

Condado
Value
After a string of below average vintages, in which the wine felt increasingly oaky and blurred, Haza seems to have come back in style. Fine-tuned, with oak conveniently placed and restrained.

Old-style Ribera. Spices, vanilla, cocoa. Good fruit. No surprise. No disappointment.
