Availability: In stock
The wine Conde Valdemar Gran Reserva bears witness to a winemaking tradition that goes back more than 125 years.
This blended Spanish red wine wine is produced by Bodegas Valdemar, a company that owns vineyards in some of the best areas across the three subzones of the DOCa Rioja.
This Gran Reserva red wine is made from a blend of 86% Tempranillo, 8% Grenache, 3% Graciano and 3% Maturana, all of them coming from old vines.
After a meticulous harvest, the grapes were traditionally vinified in stainless steel tanks under temperature control.
Then this red wine from La Rioja underwent a long ageing process of 34 months in French oak barrels.
Finally, the red wine Conde Valdemar Gran Reserva 2015 was bottled and aged for some years in the bottle.
Aerate 30 minutes before drinking.
Appearance | The red wine Conde Valdemar Gran Reserva has a clean, medium cherry-coloured robe with an orangeish rim. |

Nose | Classy and expressive, this blend of Tempranillo, Graciano, Grenache and Maturana displays a textbook Rioja nose. Wild berries, clove, cinnamon, fine leather, balsam, tobacco, cedar and balsam. Complex and ever-changing. |
Palate | Round and smooth, this wine of Bodegas Valdemar is also quite fresh. Combination of fruit and wood is completely harmonious, and both are nicely underpinned by remembrances of balsam, aromatic herbs ans toast. Everything fits perfectly, with no rough edges whatsoever. Long, complex finish with some bitter and balsamic remembrances. |
Our personal opinion | The wine Conde Valdemar Gran Reserva 2015 simply embodies Rioja's classicism. |
