Red Wine Dalmau Reserva 2019
Availability: In stock
Produced by the Marqués de Murrieta winery, Dalmau Reserva is the winery's take on what has been called "Rioja's modern style."
The 2019 vintage of this Spanish red wine is, as usual, made from a blend of Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Graciano.
The grapes of this Vino de Pago come from "Pago Canajas", a 9-hectare centenary vineyard within the Finca Ygay estate, at 500 metres of altitude.
In order to ensure superior quality, grape production was rigorously limited. Vine yields were under 1 kilogram per plant.
Harvested by hand and meticulously selected, the grapes were separately fermented in oak vats. After that, this Reserva red wine from La Rioja was aged for 20 months in Allier oak barrels. The wine was then aged for another 6 months in concrete diposits and bottled unfiltered in December 2021.
Finally, Dalmau Reserva 2019 was aged for another 12 months in the cellar prior to its release.
Decant this red wine from La Rioja 1 hour before drinking.
15,526 bottles produced.
Appearance | The wine Dalmau Reserva is deep purple with a garnet rim. |

Nose | Deep and complex, this blend of Tempranillo, Cabernet Sauvignon and Graciano suggests pristine notes of ripe black fruit, a dreamy bouquet of Eastern spices, resounding notes of dry earth, and some mineral remembrances combined with touches of flowers and some creamy and balsamic aromas. |
Palate | This wine from Bodega Marqués de Murrieta is still a bit tight, but it already announces its future greatness. Bold and velvety, showing impressive focus and remarkable nuance. Superb black fruit, a dash of amarena cherries, and flavours of bitter chocolate, pipe tobacco, fine leather and undergrowth. Exceptional acidity, bold tannins and a long, very complex finish. |
Our personal opinion | A wine which goes from strength to strength, Dalmau Reserva 2019 is simply superb. |
