Produced in DOCa Rioja, the wine Ostatu Crianza is a blended Spanish red wine made by Bodegas Ostatu.
The main component is Tempranillo, nuanced with a 10% of Grenache, Graciano and Mazuela (Carignan). Planted with 25 to 50-year-old vines, the vineyards are located near the village of Samaniego, an area with clay-limestone soils at roughly 600 metres of altitude.
Harvested by hand, the grapes were first cold macerated before being fermented in stainless steel tanks for 12 days. Interestingly, a portion of the grapes went through a whole bunch carbonic maceration fermentation.
After that, the wine Ostatu Crianza 2021 was aged for 12 months in 2nd year oak barrels. The wine was gently filtered before bottling.
Decant this Crianza red wine 30 minutes before drinking.
