Red Wine Somni 2019

The remarkable wine Somni, produced by winemaker Alfredo Arribas, is entirely sourced from Clos del Portal, a 50-hectare estate farmed following environmentally friendly procedures currently in the process of obtaining an organic agriculture certification.

This blended Spanish red wine aims  - and usually succeeds - to convey the uniquely rugged character of the Priorat terroir in a fresh, inviting manner.

Both the Syrah and Carignan varieties are grown in slopes and terraces composed of black and blue slate soils, a factor which imparts a distinctively mineral character to this red wine from Priorat.

After a manual harvest, the grapes were macerated and fermented for around three weeks days with indigenous yeasts. After that, the wine Somni 2019 was aged for 15 months in French oak barrels and oak vats.

Decant this Crianza red wine no less than 1 hour before drinking.
