Produced by bodega Dominio del Bendito, the wine El Titán del Bendito is a one-of-a-kind Spanish red wine from DO Toro.
The flagship wine of the winery, this varietal Tinta de Toro is crafted by the prestigious French winemaker Antony Terryn from ungrafted bushvines 50 to 100 years old planted in Pago La Jara, an exceptional vineyard situated at 700 metres of altitude farmed following the principles of organic agriculture.
The grapes were hand-picked and meticulously selected both on site an on entering the winemaking facility. After that, they were fermented in epoxy-lined concrete diposits, with periodic pump-overs and punch-downs.
Once the process was completed, the wine El Titán del Bendito 2021 was transferred into French oak barrels and aged for 20 months, with periodic stirrings of the lees during the first months.
One of the boldest wines produced in Spain, this red wine from Toro has a remarkable ageing potential.
It is essential to decant this Crianza red wine for a substantial period of time to fully enjoy it.
Appearance | The red wine El Titán del Bendito is deep purple with a bluish rim. |

Nose | This varietal Tinta de Toro is intense to the point of being intoxicating. Opulent, concentrated aromas of blueberries and bilberries, with luscious notes of bitter cocoa, black pepper, leather, spices and scrubland, intertwined with profound mineral and earthy aromas and some smoky and floral suggestions. Awe-inspiring. |
Palate | This wine from Dominio del Bendito certainly lives up to its name. Brawny, deep and almost "titanic" in size. There is an amazingly intense combination of black fruit and exotic spices, dense and meaty, with muscular tannins and a magnificent acidity. Despite its huge structure and weight, though, this organic red wine wine feels balanced and amazingly fresh, and it remains poised all the way to its never-ending mineral finish. |
Our personal opinion | The lovers of bold Napa Valley Cabs. or Barossa Valley Shiraz wines should try the wine El Titán del Bendito 2021. This definitely belongs on the list of the world's best full-bodied reds. |

I decanted it for 1,5 hour and were very well treated by this strong bold wine.
Its tannins are well balanced and my wife and I were met by a smooth, silky and very good tasting wine. I just can't imagine how any other wine in this price range, and maybe a lot more, can beat this!
On a sour note, I ordered 12 bottles in advance and paid 51,30 each. One day after I received them, I noticed a price drop of 2,60 a bottle; do I need to say more how I feel about that...!
