Produced by Enrique Mendoza, one of the most interesting producers in southeastern Spain, the wine Enrique Mendoza Santa Rosa brings out the best of the Mediterranean terroir of Alicante.
This elegant Spanish red wine was crafted as a tribute to his mother, Mrs. Rosa Cortés, who was passionate about the world of wine and food.
The 2021 vintage of this red wine from Alicante is made from Monastrell, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The three varieties are sourced from a single vineyard, Finca El Chaconero.
Separately harvested, the grapes were destemmed, macerated with daily pump-overs and fermented at a controlled temperature using indigenous yeasts.
Then this vegan wine was transferred into new 500-litre French oak barrels from Allier and aged for 16 months.
Finally, Enrique Mendoza Santa Rosa 2021 was bottled and further aged for several months before hitting the market.
This blended Crianza red wine should be decanted a minimum of 1 hour before drinking.
