Produced by Bodega Terramoll in beautiful Formentera, the smallest inhabited Balearic island, the wine Es Virot a blended Spanish red wine made from Cabernet Sauvignon, Monastrell and Merlot.
The grapes come from 20-year-old flatland vineyards with limestone soils. They are located in a dry area which, besides getting a lot of sunlight, is constantly swept by the sea wind. Those factors keep the vines healthy and strong.
Hand-harvested in late August. the grapes were selected and then refrigerated. Then they were destemmed, gently crushed and macerated. Alcoholic fermentation was carried out in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperature. After 10 days, the wine Es Virot 2021 was aged for 4 months in semi new French oak barrels. Before bottling, this Crianza red wine was transferred again into the steel tanks and aged for a further 12 months.
Pair this organic red wine from Formentera with cold cuts, meat recipes and BBQ'd meats.
