Red Wine Estones GS 2018
Availability: In stock
The wine Estones GS is the flagship Spanish red wine of the Mas Sersal winery from DO Montsant.
As usual, this Crianza red wine is made from a traditional blend of Grenache and Samsó (Carignan).
The grapes were brought to the cellar in little boxes and separately vinified, the grapes were cold-soaked and fermented in stainless steel tanks. Then the wine underwent malolactic fermentation and was aged for 14 months.
Interestingly, the Carignan was aged in American oak barrels, while the Grenache was aged French oak barrels.
After that, the red wine Estones GS 2018 was blended, delicately filtered and aged for a further months before its release.
We recommend that you aerate this red wine from Montsant 1 hour before you drink it.
Only 3,239 bottles produced.
Appearance | The red wine Estones GS is medium purple with reddish tinges. |

Nose | This blend of Grenache and Samsó is deep and characteristic. A transparent expression of the Montsant terroir, it exhibits clean aromas of cranberries and damson with a spicy touch, a dash of toast and leather and a distinctive mineral and earthy background. |
Palate | Well-balanced and fresh, this red wine of the Mas Sersal winery is gently warm and smooth-textured. The red fruit and the remembrances of Meditarrenan garrigue define the palate. Acidity is crisp and lively, and the wine ends with a mineral note. |
Our personal opinion | An honest, characterful Montsant red wine, the wine Estones GS 2018 is a great companion for casseroles and game dishes. |
