Product Description
Details

The idea of producing Primero was given to Bodegas Fariña by a Dutch customer, who wanted a DO Toro wine produced along the lines of the French Beaujolais. That was back in 1995.

A varietal Tinta de Toro, this Spanish red wine is made through the carbonic maceration method.

Its Spanish name ("primero" means "first"), clearly indicates its special nature, as this wine was released onto the market less than 3 months after the harvest.

The wine Fariña Primero 2023 was vinified for 5 to 7 days at a temperature of 20ºC in stainless steel tanks. It was stabilized before being bottled.

Another distinctive feature of this young red wine is that the label reproduces the work of a visual artist.

Appearance

The red wine Fariña Primero is medium ruby with a purple rim.

Nose

Expressive notes of strawberries, raspberries and cherries, alongside a dash of violets, typical of the Tinta de Toro variety, and hints of herbs and black pepper.

Palate Fresh and yummy, this carbonic maceration wine of Bodegas Fariña carries flavours of black fruit and liquorice, with lively tannins, good acidity and a clean finish. This is almost embarrasingly easy to drink.

Our personal opinion

Pair the cheerful Fariña Primero 2023 with tapas, appetizers, light dishes and relaxed meetings.

I like the Beaujolais style, so I tried this wine. It is fresh and more robust than the French type, but also more satisfying.
