The Cava Freixenet Reserva Real Brut is crafted by the Freixenet winery from different wine vintages, following the grand “Cuvée” style typical of Champagne.
The harvest of the three grape varieties (Macabeo, Parellada and Xarel·lo) was carried out in September, once the grapes had achieved their perfect ripeness. This winery always pays very close attention to the grapes acid and sugar levels to ensure the utmost quality of this Cuvée de Prestige.
Once harvested the grapes received a pneumatic pressing process and only the musts from the first press were used to craft the wine vintages. The alcoholic fermentation of this Spanish sparkling wine was realized at controlled temperatures, and the Cava was subsequently aged for approximately 30 months. Then it was disgorged and added dosage liquor which had been aged for 8 months in chestnut barrels.
Presented in a special bottle, Freixenet Reserva Real Brut honours the French Champagne style. The bottles feature a screen print of the caves where the bottles were aged.
Appearance | This Freixenet Reserva Real Brut has a lemon-yellow colored body with straw-yellow reflections. There are fine and abundant bubbles that rise to form a marked crown. |

Nose | In the glass, this long aged Cava Brut presents fine fruity aromatics (especially of white fruits) that are in harmony with freshly baked pasty notes. There are also nut aromatics and traditional, Catalan style crème brûlée notes, alongside some toasted and balsamic notions. |
Palate | With a lively entrance onto the palate, this Cava by Freixenet has a good persistency and delicate freshness. Very well-integrated bubbles, followed by a creamy finish with remembrances of citrus, Mediterranean herbs and flowers. |
Our personal opinion | The classy Freixenet Reserva Real Brut is a lively, limited-edition and elegant cava that we would recommend for special celebrations. |
