Product Description
Details

The wine Gago is famed Spanish winemaker Telmo Rodríguez’s personal interpretation of the phenomenal DO Toro terroir.

This varietal Spanish red wine is made from Tinta de Toro grapes sourced from several parcels with sandy soils located in the villages of Argujillo, Villabuena del Puente and Morales de Toro.

After a meticulous harvest, the grapes were fermented in stainless steel tanks and barrels. After that, this Crianza red wine was aged for 14 months in French oak vats and barrels (20% of the wine).

Finally, the red wine Gago 2019 was bottled and kept in the cellar for a substantial period of time before its commercial release.

Decant this red wine from Toro before drinking.

Appearance

The red wine Gago is deep purple with some ruby reflections.

Nose

Deep, dark and ripe, as a Tinta de Toro red wine should be. Mulberries, blueberries and blackcurrants, with wild herbs, smoke and pine needles, combined with luscious spicy notes and earthy overtones.

Palate

This wine of the Telmo Rodríguez winery is rich, textured and palate-coating, with polished tannins, impressive acidity and nice balance. Very long finish with an aftertaste of black cherries, spices and deep mineral suggestions.

Our personal opinion

The wine Gago 2019 shows Telmo Rodríguez’s profound understanding of the Toro region.
