Red Wine Geol 2019
Availability: In stock
Produced by Tomás Cusiné, the wine Geol is a blended Spanish red wine coming from DO Costers del Segre.
It is made basically from Carignan, complemented with some Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The three varieties are planted in rocky-limestone soils, and located at an altitude of 700 metres above sea level.
The grapes were carefully harvested and, once in the cellar, cold-macerated for 24 hours and manually selected. Then this red wine from Costers del Segre was fermented and macerated in stainless steel tanks.
Finally, the wine Geol 2019 was transferred into 1st and 2nd year French oak barrels, where it completed malolactic fermentation and was aged on its lees for over a period of 14 months with periodic stirrings.
This Crianza red wine will pair excellently with hearty meat recipes.
Aerate this organic red wine some time before drinking.
Appearance | The red wine Geol is deep purple with a ruby rim. |

Nose | Deep, juicy aromas of ripe black fruit, nuanced by some wooden notes and underbrush remembrances. As this blend of Merlot, Carignan and Cabernet Sauvignon opens, the nose evolves into suggestions of red berries, sweet spices, some earthy undertones, hints of coal and liquorice, and a thin layer of balsamic notes combined with some mineral remembrances. Rich and complex. |
Palate | Smooth-textured and detailed, with great potential for growth, this red wine from Tomàs Cusiné shows a remarkable balance and a pleasantly warm character. Fresh acidity, ripe tannins and a long, balsamic finish with remembrances of red fruit and spices. |
Our personal opinion | The wine Geol 2019 is poised and definitely characterful. |
