Red Wine Goliardo Caiño 2020
Availability: Out of stock
Crafted by world-class winemaker Raúl Pérez and the prestigious Galician oenologist Rodrigo Méndez, Goliardo Caiño is one of the bottlings of the Tintos de Mar collection of bodega Forjas del Salnés.
Coming from DO Rías Baixas, this Spanish red wine is a varietal Caiño Tinto, a long-forgotten indigenous red variety that produces crisp wines with exceptional acidity and an unmistakable Atlantic character.
On top of that, the grapes come from vineyards located close to the sea. This fact gives this red wine from Rías Baixas a uniquely saline imprint.
After fermenting in stainless steel tanks, the grapes completed malolactic fermentation in 225-litre French oak barrels. After that, Goliardo Caiño 2020 was aged in the barrels for 12-14 months.
This is a truly special, internationally renowned Crianza red wine.
Decant 1 hour before drinking.
Very limited availability.
Appearance | The red wine Caiño Tinto is medium purple with some ruby tinges. |

Nose | Fragrant notions of wild berries, blue flowers, fern and aromatic herbs, combined with some mineral undertones. Impressively complex, this varietal Caiño Tinto also suggests a salty remembrance and dim notes of spices and toast. |
Palate | This wine from Forjas del Salnés is fresh, energetic and tight as a drum. Smooth tannins and fabulous acidity, with flavours of violets, red cranberries, earth, salt and spices. Long, mineral finish with a citrusy and herbal twist. |
Our personal opinion | Is it possible for a wine to be exceedingly drinkable and also quite profound? Goliardo Caiño 2020 proves that it certainly is. |
