Details
Produced by the Gómez Cruzado name, a household name from La Rioja based in the legendary Barrio de la Estación of Haro, the red wine Gómez Cruzado El Predilecto recovers the winemaking style which was traditional in La Rioja before oak ageing became widespread.
This blended Spanish red wine is made from 65% Grenache, sourced from old vineyards located in Alto Najerilla, and 35% Tempranillo, coming from Alto Najerilla.
Separately vinified, each grape variety was fully destemmed and fermented uncrushed with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks, followed by a short maceration.
After that, this red wine from La Rioja was blended and transferred into concrete diposits. Before being bottled in December 2023, the red wine Gómez Cruzado El Predilecto 2022 was aged for about 5 months in the diposits. It saw no wood whatsoever.
