Cava Gran Claustro Cuvée Especial Gran Reserva 2019
Availability: In stock
There is an interesting story behind the sparkler Gran Claustro Cuvée Especial, a well-known Cava from bodega Castillo Perelada.
In 1959, when US President Dwight D. Eisenhower visited Spain, this Spanish sparkling wine was served at the official reception.
An equal blend of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay, 25% of the Chardonnay must was fermented in French oak barrels on its lees for some months. The rest of this , as well as the Pinot Noir must, was fermented in stainless steel tanks.
After that, the Cava Gran Claustro Cuvée Especial Gran Reserva 2019 completed secondary fermentation in the bottle.
Finally, this Cava Gran Reserva Brut Nature was aged for 30+ months in the bottle before its commercial release.
This is a charming Cava from L'Empordà.
