This is the 2021 vintage of the wine Hécula Monastrell Organic.
Produced by Bodegas Castaño, this Spanish red wine is a varietal Monastrell from DO Yecla.
It is made from over 50-year-old, organically farmed vineyards planted at an altitude of 750 metres aboves sea level. Soils are made of rocks, sand and lime.
Traditionally vinified, the wine Hécula Monastrell Organic 2021 was fermented in stainless steel tanks for 10 days.
After that, this red wine from Yecla underwent malolactic fermentation and was aged for 6 months in 80% French and 20% American oak barrels.
This varietal vegan red wine is definitely one of Spain's absolute best values.
