Red Wine Ianvs 2 2023

The wine Ianvs 2 is the second of the debut releases of Ianvs Vins, a new wine project managed by Rubén Talavan and Sascha Koch, two professionals with several years of experience in the wine business. This minimal intervention wine was produced by Ianvs Vins together with Celler La Vinyeta, a household name in the northern Catalan region of Empordà.

Coming in a 1 liter bottle, this utterly smashable Spanish red wine is made from Grenache (85%) and Monastrell (15%), a blend that is quite frequent in southern France, but much less so in Catalonia. Both varieties come from 25-year-old vineyards located in Mollet de Perelada, in the province of Girona.

Hand-harvested on August 22nd, the grapes were spontaneously fermented with 20% stems in stainless steel tanks and macerated for 2 days with the skins. Then the red wine Ianvs 2 2023 went through a spontenous malolactic fermentation and was kept in the tanks until being bottled on March 6th 2024.

This young red wine has a low alcohol content (11.9 % ABV)  and virtually no sulfites (less than 7 mg/liter).

These features, plus the 1 liter format, make it a great party wine.
