The white wine Izadi Blanco Selección is virtually a catalogue of native white grapes from from La Rioja.
Besides the usual Viura and Malvasía, the two main varieties, this Spanish white wine includes White Grenache, White Tempranillo, Maturana Blanca and Torrontés.
All of them come from old vines planted on mild slopes with clay-limestone soils in Villanueva (Rioja Alavesa). Climate is Atlantic with a Mediterranean influence.
Harvested at their optimal ripening state in mid October, once in the cellar the grapes were destemmed and gently crushed prior to fermentation.
First, the wine must was fermented in stainless steel tanks and oak barrels. After that, the wine Izadi Blanco Selección 2022 was blended and aged for some months in French oak barrels.
Pair this blend of six white varieties from La Rioja with creamy cheeses, white meat and oily fish recipes.

Blanco izadi
I hold that Rioja whites are a hidden treasure. This is really authentic.

In my experience, Rioja whites age EXTREMELY well. So I bought some bottles of this, some for now, some for later.

Izadi white wine
I'm not used to drinking Rioja whites, but this was quite good!! Not overripe or oaky, the ensemble of grapes works fairly well.
