Red Wine Jaros 2020
Availability: In stock
A varietal Tinto Fino, the wine Jaros is produced by the Viñas del Jaro winery, a brand of the Compañía de Viñedos Iberian, owned by the Osborne brothers.
This varietal Spanish red wine is sourced from a single vineyard sitting at 750 metres of altitude, near Pesquera de Duero, in the very heart of the Ribera del Duero region. The vines, around 25 years of age, are planted in sandy soils with a high limestone content.
Traditionally vinified in stainless steel tanks for 25 days, after fermenting and macerating with the skins, the red wine Jaros 2020 was aged for 18 months in new and 2nd year French and American 300-litre oak barrels.
Finally, this red wine from Ribera del Duero was aged for some months in the bottle before its release.
Aerate this Crianza red wine 1 hour before drinking.
Appearance | The red wine Jaros is deep ruby with a purple rim. |
---|---|
Nose | Deep aromas of ripe blueberries, blackcurrants and plums, typical of a varietal Tinto Fino, nuanced by notions of underbrush, aromatic herbs, liquorice, Arabica coffee, toast and sweet spices. |
Palate | Elegant and taut, this wine from Viñas del Jaro has some slightly ruggged tannins that need some time to fully integrate, enlivened by a fresh acidity. The wine is still a little tight, but it has real potential for improvement. Long, persistent finish with remembrances of black fruit, spices and balsam. |
Our personal opinion | The red wine Jaros 2020 is an enjoyable Ribera that will improve substantially in the bottle. |
