Produced by one of the oldest wineries in Penedès, Jaume Giró i Giró Selecte Gran Reserva is an elegant, long-aged Spanish sparkling wine.
Produced from old vines, it is worth noting that the Jaume Giró i Giró winery is currently converting to organic farming.
This top-notch Cava is made from a blend of Xarel·lo, Parellada and Macabeo, complemented with a touch of Chardonnay.
After a traditional vinification, Jaume Giró i Giró Selecte Gran Reserva 2012 was bottled and then aged for no less than 92 months in the cellar.
Nicely priced, this Cava Gran Reserva Brut Nature is mature, fresh and refined.
Appearance | The Cava Jaume Giró i Giró Selecte Gran Reserva has a very bright golden colour with some amber tinges. |

Nose | Made from a traditional Cava blend of Xarel·lo, Macabeo and Parellada, plus a touch of Chardonnay, the nose suggests aromas of white fruit and white flowers, with some remembrances of dry fruit, English custard, orange rind and raw almonds. There is also a mineral and toasted background. |
Palate | Palate-coating, dry and very fresh, this Gran Reserva from Penedès has a lean body and an exceptional acidity. This flavourful Cava of Jaume Giró i Giró is reminiscent of fine lees, dry fruit, patisserie, citrus and flowers. Smooth texture and long, deep finish. |
Our personal opinion | A remarkable sparkler, Jaume Giró i Giró Selecte Gran Reserva 2012 proves than there is more to Cava than meets the eye. |
