Product Description
Details

Produced by the José Pariente winery, the wine Las Fincas de José Pariente - formerly known as José Pariente Fermentado en Barrica - is one of the best Verdejo wines produced in Castile.

Born in the heart of the DO Rueda, this varietal Verdejo was produced from old-vines located in the region of "La Seca", one of the highest points of the Spanish meseta, right on the high plateau of the Duero river.

Meticulously harvested and carefully selected, the grapes were gently crushed on arriving at the cellar. Then this Spanish white wine was fermented 228 and 500-litre French oak barrels, where it went through a partial malo.

After that this white wine fermented in oak was aged for a period of 11 months, with punch-downs and pump-overs performed on a regular basis.

Finally, the wine Las Fincas de José Pariente 2023 was clarified and stabilized before bottling.

Pair this organic white wine with oily fish recipes, creamy cheeses and white meat.

Appearance

The white wine Las Fincas de José Pariente is deep straw with some golden and greenish reflections.

Nose

The nose of this old-vines Verdejo is very elegant, insinuating subtle mineral aromas, notes of white and yellow fruit, hints of aromatic herbs and a delicate smoky touch.

Palate

Unctuous and smooth, this white wine from José Pariente has a great balance between fruit and oak. Notes of dry herbs, ripe pineapples, apple compote and some hints of exotic spices and smoke. Great acidity, as is usually the case with Verdejo wines. Long, fruity finish with a remembrance of hay and fennel.

Our personal opinion

A classy Verdejo from Rueda judiciously fermented and aged in oak, the wine Las Fincas de José Pariente 2023 has a noteworthy complexity and a nice ageing potential.

I bought several bottles to age them. Mind you, this wine improves dramatically in the bottle.

For my money this is one of Spain's great Verdejos. I'd give you three Chards for one bottle of this at any time.
