An homage to the founder of bodega Juvé y Camps, Juvé y Camps Casa Vella Iohannes is the top-shelf Spanish red wine of the winery, produced only in remarkable vintages.
Made from a Bordeaux blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot, this red wine from Penedès is sourced exclusively from Finca Mediona, a vineyard with clay-loam soils located at 700 metres of altitude, in one of the freshest areas of DO Penedès.
The hand-harvested grapes were meticulously selected and macerated for a substantial period of time to extract colour and aromatic compounds. After that, they were fermented in stainless steel tanks under controlled temperature.
Then the red wine Juvé y Camps Casa Iohannes 2015 was transferred into 1st and 2nd year fine-grained French oak barrels and aged for 12 months.
Finally, this reserva red wine was kept for some months in oak vats and, once bottled, for 2 more years minimum in the cellar before hitting the market.
Decant at least 40 minutes before drinking.
