Cava Juvé y Camps La Capella 2011
Availability: In stock
The high-end Cava Juvé y Camps La Capella conveys like few others the amazing potential of the traditional Cava grape varieties - more specfically, the potential of Xarel·lo from Penedès - to produce world-class sparklers.
A varietal Xarel·lo, this Cava de Paraje Calificado - Cava's top quality tier - is sourced from from a 7-hectare estate planted in 1972, in limestone soils, near the town of Espiells, in the highest area of Penedès.
Harvested by hand and meticulously selected, the grapes of this Brut Nature Gran Reserva produced by Juvé y Camps were carefully vinified with selected yeasts in order to express the specific character of the grape and the site.
Bottled in March 2012, the Cava Juvé y Camps La Capella 2011 was aged for 150+ months in the bottle prior to its release.
This is a one-of-a-kind Gran Reserva Cava from Penedès.

Appearance | The Cava Juvé y Camps La Capella is deep straw with some amber-golden tinges. |
---|---|
Nose | Complex and extremely delicate, showing notes of yellow fruit, fine pastry, butter, a dash of spices and aromatic herbs. As this single varietal Xarel·lo opens, there appear some elegant toasted notes and some mineral and earthy undertones. |
Palate | This Gran Reserva of the Juvé y Camps winery feels amazingly fresh and energetic despite being over 14 years old. Flavours of yellow fruit, pastry and butter, some hints of dry earth, a dash of bouquet garni, notions of dry fruit and even white flowers. Bubbles are almost imperceptible, acidity is magnificent and finish is extremely long and suggestive. |
Our personal opinion | The competition to produce the best Catalan sparkling wine is getting tougher! Pure, crisp and complex, the Cava Juvé y Camps La Capella 2011 is a serious contender to the title. |
