Red Wine La Mare de Pascona 2020
Availability: In stock
An homage to the Montsant terroir and to the mother of Toni Ripoll, owner and head winemaker of Celler Pascona, La Mare de Pascona is a varietal Grenache wine.
The grapes come from the oldest vineyards of the winery, composed of sand and granite soils. They have a high pH, a feature which reduces the wine acidity. Due to that fact, this Spanish red wine is particularly fresh and supple.
After fermenting in truncated cone-shaped stainless steel tanks, this Crianza red wine completed malolactic fermentation in 225-litre French oak barrels, where it was also aged for 9 months.
Finally, La Mare de Pascona 2020 was naturally stabilized and gently filtered before bottling.
Aerate this Montsant red wine at least 20 minutes before drinking.
Appearance | The red wine La Mare de Pascona is medium ruby with some purple tinges. |

Nose | Complex and delicate, this old-vines Grenache carries some lively aromas of boysenberries, wild strawberries and blue flowers, with hints of rose petals, vanilla, toast, dry earth and underbrush. |
Palate | Elegant and slender, with a linear character and a delightfully pure nature. Red berries, with tips of menthol and aromatic herbs, dim mineral undertones and a dash of spices and flowers. Very good acidity, velvety tannins. This wine of Celler Pascona has a long, complex finish. |
Our personal opinion | Sleek and wonderfully drinkable, La Mare de Pascona 2020 will pair excellently with roasted meats. |
