Details

A blended Spanish red wine produced by bodega Casa Aurora, one of the projects of Asturias-born winemaker Germán R. Blanco, the wine La Nave Casa Aurora comes from Bierzo Alto, in the easternmost part of DO Bierzo. The winery is named after Mr. Blanco’s great grandmother, Bierzo native Ms. Aurora García.

A blend of 90% Mencía and 10% Garnacha Tintorera (Alicante Bouschet) and Palomino, the grapes are sourced from vineyards with clayey soils 65 years old on average, planted at 500 to 800 metres of altitude. Mr. Blanco buys the grapes from reliable local growers.

After a meticulous selection, this red wine from El Bierzo was fermented with native yeasts in Flextank eggs. Then this vegan wine was transferred into 400 and 500-litre used French oak barrels, where it was aged for 8 months.

Finally, this Crianza red wine was bottled and aged for some months before hitting the market.

6,144 bottles produced.
