Availability: In stock
Sourced from over 25-year-old vineyards, Lan Reserva is produced by the well-known winery Bodegas Lan.
The main variety of this Spanish red wine is Tempranillo, rounded with a 5% Mazuela (Carignan), coming from several plots of vines located in the Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa subzones. The 2016 vintage was very good, with a cold winter followed by a rainy spring and a hot summer with little rainfall, at the end of which the grapes were fully ripen and in an excellent sanitary condition.
Hand-picked and selected on site and in the premises, the grapes were fermented under controlled temperature and macerated for 3 weeks with frequent pump-overs to extract colour and tannin content.
After that, this red wine from La Rioja was aged for 20 months in hybrid -French and American- oak barrels.
Finally, Lan Reserva 2017 was bottled and aged for another 18 months before being released onto the market.
This is a smooth, elegant Reserva red wine.
Pair with casseroles and meat recipes.
