Product Description
Details

Sourced from over 25-year-old vineyards, the wine Lan Reserva is produced by Bodegas Lan.

The main variety of this Spanish red wine is Tempranillo, rounded with a 5% Mazuela (Carignan), coming from several plots of vines located in the Rioja Alta and Rioja Alavesa subzones.

Hand-picked and selected on site and in the premises, the grapes were fermented under controlled temperature and macerated for 3 weeks with frequent pump-overs to extract colour and tannin content.

After that, this red wine from La Rioja was aged for 19 months in hybrid -French and American- oak barrels.

Finally, the wine Lan Reserva 2018 was bottled and aged for another 22 months before being released onto the market.

This is a smooth, elegant Reserva red wine.

Pair with casseroles and meat recipes.

Nose

This wine from Tempranillo and Mazuela is nuanced and suggestive, with remembrances of forest berries and sour cherries, a splash of black pepper, clove and cinnamon, and some balsamic and toasted suggestions.

Palate

This reserva of Bodegas Lan has a smooth entrance and a lively, fresh mid-palate with medium tannins, a smokey and balsamic hint, a core of ripe ruit and a long spicy finish.

Our personal opinion

Classy and poised, the wine Lan Reserva 2018 is a winner.
