Red Wine Laurona 2012
Availability: Out of stock
Besides its quality, one of the things which makes Laurona an extremely interesting Spanish red wine is the fact that the wine is released fully mature, so that one we do not have to age it for years in our own home cellar.
It is made from a blend of Grenache and Carignan, complemented by tiny amounts of Syrah, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vines are scattered over the towns of Falset, Marçà, El Molar, La Figuera i Darmós, in some of the best terroirs in the DO Montsant
Harvested by hand and fermented in stainless steel tanks, this Crianza red wine was then aged in 500-litre French oak barrels for 12 months.
Aerate Laurona 2012 30 minutes before drinking.
It is worth noting that the Celler Laurona winery was formerly advised by René Barbier and Fernando Zamora.
Appearance | The red wine Laurona has an intense cherry colour with a purple rim. |

Nose | Deep and complex, this blend of Grenache, Carignan, Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah and Merlot is packed with black and red fruit, nuanced by exotic spices, some floral notions and a dash of Mediterranean undergrowth over an earthy, mineral background. |
Palate | Well balanced and mature, this wine of Celler Laurona has a gentle character and a silky texture. Expressive and calm, with evocative notes of fruit, mineral and garrigue. Ripe tannins, very good acidity and a fresh, delicately toasted finish. |
Our personal opinion | Nearing its peak, Laurona 2012 is the perfect companion for hearty stews and substantial meat dishes. |
