The wine Llicorella Vitis 60 is the flagship red wine of bodega Llicorella, a branch of Cellers Unió, one of Catalonia’s biggest and most important wine coops.
A blend of the traditional varieties Grenache and Samsó (Carignan), this Spanish red wine from DOQ Priorat is sourced from the oldest estate vineyards, 60+ years of age, planted on the outskirts of Poboleda, a historic village located in the freshest part of the region.
Vinified in stainless steel tanks, after going through alcoholic and malolactic fermentation this red wine from Priorat was transferred into oak barrels, where it was aged for 15 to 18 months.
The red wine Llicorella Vitis 60 2019 was further aged on the cellar for some time before hitting the market.
Decante this Crianza red wine at least 1 hour before drinking.

Nose | This blend of Grenache and Samsó displays a richly layered minerality - a most attractive combination of schist, wet stones and charcoal - with lovely plums and dark berries, some wild herbs, pencil lead and a spicy edge. |
Palate | Power, balance and sheer deliciousness go hand in hand in this red wine of Cellers Unió winery. Fresh and spicy, with lovely dark ripe cherries, a silky texture and plush tannins, with enough acidity to keep everything in place. Long finish with dark chocolate, black pepper and fine leather, ending with an earthy and smokey note. |
Our personal opinion | The wine Llicorella Vitis 60 is bold, self-assured red Priorat. |
