Made by superstar winemaker Raúl Pérez, the wine Los Arrotos del Pendón Albarín is a varietal Albarín Blanco, a rare variety native to northern Spain, sourced from over 50-year-old vines planted in clayey-rocky soils in the village of Villamañán, Castilla y León, at an altitude over 800 metres above sea level.
This grapes were picked by hand and fermented with native yeasts in 500-litre oak barrels. After that, the vinification process of the white wine Los Arrotos del Pendón Albarín 2020 was given an unexpected twist. Indeed, this white wine was aged under a veil of flor - like a Sherry or a Vin Jaune from Jura - for a period of 4 to 5 months.
A truly singular Spanish white wine due to the combination of a rare variety and a unusual ageing process, this white wine from Tierra de León bears witness to the talent of the great Raúl Pérez.

White wine by the master
This is nice!! It reminds of some jaune wines from Jura, but with an earthier side to it. Engaging and delicious.
