Details
The wine MarLa Garnatxes is a fabulous varietal Grenache wine made by Sandra Doix, a 6th generation Priorat-born winemaker who launched her personal project in 2019.
This small-batch old-vines Grenache – only 1 barrel produced! – was sourced from Paratge Les Salanques (“Paratge” can be translated as lieu dit), a 2.5-hectare family vineyard with llicorella (slate) soils located in Poboleda, in the freshest area of DOQ Priorat. The vines are around 70 years of age. This Crianza red wine is labeled as Vi de Paratge de Poboleda.
Hand-picked and meticulously vinified, the grapes were fermented in stainless steel tanks. After that, the red wine MarLa Garnatxes 2021 was aged for 12 months in French oak barrels and for 12 months in the cellar before hitting the market.
This red wine from Priorat conveys talented Catalan winemaker Sandra Doix’s unique vision of the Grenache variety. Keep her on your radar, for she is heading to international stardom.
