This is the new vintage of Marta Joia Brut Reserva, the best-known Cava of Cavas Canals Canals.
It is made from the three traditional Cava varieties: Xarel·lo and Macabeo, grown in the central area of Penedès, and Parellada, grown in upper Penedès. All are certified organic.
Harvested by hand from the beginning of September to the beginning of October, the grapes were selected and separately crushed in the most gentle way, so as to obtain only the "free-run" juice.
Then each wine must was separately fermented. After that, this Cava brut reserva was blended and bottled.
Afterwards, Marta Joia Brut Reserva 2019 completed secondary fermentation and was aged for 24 months in the cellar.

Appearance | The organic Cava Marta Joia Brut Reserva is pale yellow with some greenish tinges. |

Nose | Notes of white fruit, aromatic herbs and citrus. This blend of Macabeo, Xarel·lo and Parellada also suggests some dim wooden aromas, some hints of pastry and dry fruit, and a buttery touch. |
Palate | This Cava from Ramon Canals has small, gentle bubbles and a smooth texture. Ripe pears, Granny Smith apples, lemon rind and pastry, with a good acidity and a medium finish that leaves a fresh sensation on the palate. |
Our personal opinion | The sparkler Marta Joia Brut Reserva 2019 pairs well with many kinds of food, from shrimp and rice to white meat and fish. |
